Integrating youth into African agriculture is essential for tackling high unemployment rates and driving agricultural transformation. Many young Africans perceive agriculture as unappealing due to a historical lack of support and the belief that it is a profession for older generations. However, by providing access to modern technologies and practical skills, youth can emerge as the driving force behind innovative agricultural enterprises and rural development.
Supporting youth integration is central to our mission (https://www.africa-green-network.org/about) and it is a key focus across all AGSN member institutions (https://www.africa-green-network.org/colleges). To promote youth involvement in agriculture, the African Green Store Network, in collaboration with #GIZ, #SLE, #JIRP, and #Bukura Agricultural College, organized a 10-day participatory film-making workshop. This initiative, funded by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, brought together 11 talented students from Bukura Agricultural College in Western Kenya.

The students mastered the use of #media as a powerful #tool to tell their stories and inspire more young people to explore #careers in agriculture. They produced two short films that delve into the current #opportunities and #challenges of pursuing a career in agriculture.
