Community of Practice founded during Cameroon workshop

March 2023

The German Development Agency (GIZ) funded "Capacity Development Program for Lecturers and Managers of the Green Colleges," in the context of the greater Green Innovation Centres Program, was proposed for i) a greater didactical capacity building for African colleges in the field of agriculture and ii) improved networking and south-south, north-south exchange for the improvement of management and lecturing approaches.

Towards this end, the first workshop organized by the Centre for Rural Development (SLE), the implementer of the second cohort's activities, was held in Bafoussam, Cameroon, on the campus of a participating college, the Centre Polyvalent de Formation Mbuou.

There, 30+ managers from seven countries in the francophone and anglophone spheres met for the first time to engage on a week-long discourse on best approaches towards management for green colleges. At the end of the workshop, the "African Green Store Network" was founded in order to stabilize the network's continuity in the future, create a platform for further engagement, and improve the colleges' visibility for possible funding partners.

This website was created as a key component of the establishment of the network. We hope you enjoy and take time to learn more about our approach and program.
