AGSN: Solar irrigation conference held in Ilorin, Nigeria resounds with success

Updated: Oct 13

From the Executive Board desk: "Behind every success, there's a lot of hard work and a support system that never gets enough credit." In short, success isn’t a solo act.

The Executive Board of this network is grateful for the success of the maiden edition of our conference held in Ilorin, Nigeria, which welcomed 88 participants from over 12 African countries. Thank you for the dedication of the Nigerian team, the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI), and the communication team for making the conference an impactful event. Beyond the success recorded in every session of the conference, the coming together of members of the network and other stakeholders has strengthened the network as it provided the platform for community networking and better organizational development.

We believe that all participants of the conference will make use of the gain from this conference. Promoting the adoption of the innovative solution on solar-powered irrigation systems (SPIS) will boost agricultural productivity through sustainable practices and combat climate change.

Appreciation to our Partners

The Executive Board appreciates the Chief Executive Officer of ARMTI and the entire management for successfully hosting the maiden edition of our conference.

We are grateful for the massive support received from our partners and sponsors of the just concluded conference; the Centre for Rural Development (SLE, Humboldt University of Berlin - https://www.sle-berlin.de), GIZ projects (Sun4Water, Sustainable Agricultural Systems and Policies (AgSys) WE4F Program - https://we4f.org/ (funded by (6) donors: BMZ, UE, NORAD, SIDA, Netherlands, USAID).
