1. SLE JOINT INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH PROJECTS 2024

Supporting organisational development of the African Green Store Network (AGSN) to foster sustainable knowledge transfer in Kenya and in the AGSN partner countries

Background

The SLE is implementing a 12-month project to support the organisational development of the AGSN, of which the JIRP is an integral part. Specifically, the JIRP will inform work package 1 which aims to strengthen the networks strategic orientation. Other work packages of the overall projects focus on strengthening the network’s ability to act (2), and its visibility and networking (3). The project also includes the potential organisation of a conference in 2025.

The interdisciplinary study

The interdisciplinary study
● analyses first the needs of the partners from AGSN in terms of organisational development, visibility and capacities;
● analyses existing best practice network examples with similar topics, identification of success factors and weak points and exchange with partners from these examples;
● and, in partnership, develops strategic plans that lay out pathways for strategic development, identification and prioritisation of activities, strategic actors mapping, identification of unique selling point;
● draft implementation plans for identified activities
● and develops recommendations based on the previous findings.
● The study also includes products related to the findings such as e.g. a concept for a thematic conference or a concept for a virtuell self-presentation.

Objective

The main objective is to (1) identify relevant needs of the partners regarding the organizational development of the AGSN in order to improve knowledge transfer on a broad scale, and (2) support a process where these needs are translated into a road map and/or strategy including a communication process. The methods can include (among others) interviews, workshops, field visits, actors mapping.
